How does IPL remove pigmentation?

The Intense Pulsed Light targets the melanin (skin pigment) in the darkened area, clearing all layers of the pigmentation and revealing even-toned, unblemished skin. Please note that this treatment is most effective on fair to medium skin tones.

How many IPL sessions will I need to remove uneven pigmentation?

This will be discussed at your consultation. A successful outcome will depend on the extent of the skin damage, how much you are in the sun, your age and skin health. We will take an “under the skin” scan to give an idea. A minimum of 3 treatments is usually recommended, and between 3 and 6 treatments is generally our recommendation for best results.

Will IPL remove my melasma?

Melasma is not a straightforward condition. IPL may not be the most appropriate treatment. The Skin specialists at Nakedhealth understand this condition well and will be able to recommend the best treatment.

How should I prepare and care for my skin after IPL?

IPL involves a small amount of pre and post-treatment care. We advise that you try to stay out of the sun prior to the treatment and use SPF responsibly pre and post treatment.
